Following the Premier’s announcement today that Victoria’s lockdown has been extended by seven days, St John’s School will remain closed and Remote Learning will continue until next Tuesday 27th July, or as further advised.

As outlined last week, please remember we are here to support students and their families and will continue to provide learning opportunities via Seesaw and with regular small group Zoom Meetings with class teachers.

On-site supervision is limited to conditions as outlined to families previously.

Communication with families will continue via email, Operoo and Seesaw.

After lots of planning and relocation of classes to portables, our building project commenced during the school holidays. The demolition of part of the old library building and gutting of the adjoining classrooms is now complete and the site has been cleared in preparation for the building works to commence.

Students have been watching the demolition works with great interest, hearing the noise and vibrations as brick walls fall and then watching as slabs of concrete, bundles of timber and rubble, were lifted into trucks and removed from the site.

We now wait in anticipation for the development part of the process to commence and see the new and refurbished  buildings take shape.

Following our Premier’s announcement late yesterday, of a 5 day lockdown, we confirm the following:
Friday 16 July to Tuesday 20 July – Students will undertake Remote Schooling

St John’s School will be closed during this time and children will be required to remain at home, except where family circumstances require students to be supervised at school according to the specific criteria outlined through our communication to families.

Once again, we appreciate that this is a very challenging time for all in our community and your cooperation with the school closure is very much appreciated.

Our direct communication with families will continue through Skoolbag, Operoo and Seesaw.

Please remember we are here to support you and your child /children during this time and look forward to the resumption of onsite learning for students.
