Harmony Week

Monday 17 – Sunday 23 March 2025

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Here at St John’s we are celebrating Harmony Week in several ways:

Monday 17th:  Students & staff are invited to wear traditional cultural clothing. This is a great way to share and celebrate their heritage with others.

Other activities organised for the week include;

  • ‘Multicultural Moves’; dance incursion where students get to experience and learn different cultural dances
  • Students for KWR Secondary College visiting to run games and activities
  • Multi-age craft and fun activities & wearing a touch of orange

Congratulations to Evie Price and Tony Butera on being elected as our School Captains for 2025.

We are confident that they will grow throughout the year as many opportunities arise for them to model leadership whilst also continuing to be faithful to all we stand for here at St John’s School.

Prospective Families are most welcome to join us to see our facilities, meet staff, students and parents, whilst having any questions answered.  During your visit you will experience an insight into what St John the Baptist Primary School really offers students and their families as a supportive, faith centred school community.

Please register your interest via the QR code or by calling the school office. Ph: 03 59971653

Enrolments:

2026 enrolments will open on Wednesday 19 February – enrolment packs can be obtained from the office or our website after this date.

Our Foundations are settling in well, with lots of ‘school firsts’ being experienced. They are developing relationships with their buddies who are proving to be wonderful examples of friendship and expected behaviour.

We have also held our Swimming Sports and trials, our Welcome Picnic and now the seniors on the Grade 5/6 Camp at Forest Lodge. They started with a morning at Wilsons Promontory and are now emersed in various on-site activities at the camp.

Meanwhile all the other day-to-day learning and school routines are well underway.

Friday 7th February will be a day of gathering as a school to celebrate the start of what promises to be a busy and exciting year.

A whole school liturgy in the church at 9.15am will be followed by our first school assembly for the year.

Later in the day the Friends of St John’s Association will host a Welcome Picnic where families are invited to gather from 5pm to 7pm for a BYO picnic dinner.

This is a wonderful relaxed opportunity for families to catch up, welcome new families and chat with staff.  Details below.
