This term, our school is proud to support our Parish St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.

We invite all families to donate Christmas items like bonbons, Christmas cakes, chocolates, and other Christmas treats to help bring joy to families in need. The items we collect will be given to the St Vincent De Paul Society to be made into hampers and given to local families.

At St John’s we do this to live out the Catholic Social Teachings, Solidarity—standing together to support one another—and Dignity of the Human Person—making sure that every person feels valued, loved, and remembered during this special season.

Each class will be given a basket for donations. We will collect donations up until the end of November.

We welcome your attendance as our Grade 3 students celebrate their Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Thursday 14th November at 6pm, St John’s Parish Church.

Students from Columba, Bunyip and St James’ Nar Nar Goon, will be in attendace to receive the Sacrament as well.

Our prayers and congratulations to these children as they take a further step in understanding and participating in their faith journey.

 

A large crowd gathered for our Grandparent’s Day Celebrations. The church was filled with visitors for our Liturgy which was a moving and fitting tribute to our grandparents. Morning tea followed in the hall and then visitors gathered around the oval for House Sports, unfortunately as strong cold wind tempted to bring rain.

The events concluded with the ever-popular Marching competition and an overall win for Scott (Green) House. Grandparents for whose grandchildren are in their final year were presented with a gift from the Parents & Friends Association.

Following a sausage sizzle lunch, classrooms were open for children to share with their visitors.

 

 

 

What a Wonderful night it was!

Our students’ performances were fantastic and by the smiles and excitment expressed, what a positve expeerience it was for all, although tiring for the youngest students.

Congratulations and thanks to Rhiannon McFarlane and all staff involved in co-ordinating rehearsals, students and their costumes, props, trave,l ticketing etc.

Recordings of the Musical are now available but orders will close at midnight on the 15th November with orders being distributed the following week.

Our school recognised RU OK Day with a Bike & Blend Wellbeing Day for staff and students. This wholesome initiative allowed students to choose a smoothy flavour and then pedal away to blend their own healthy smoothy.

Throughout the day, students were involved in various other wellbeing activities in the classroom focusing on looking after yourself and checking in on how others are going too.

The enthusiasm from everyone already suggests the repeat of the day next year with some additional ideas already being suggested as well.
